Health at the Heart of Rio + 20: Key messages, WHO co-sponsored events and NEW report on Health Indicators of Sustainable Development

Health is now noted explicitly in the Rio+20 "Zero" draft document "The Future We Want." More health focus can help ensure that health is part of the follow-up decisions to be made in Rio for sustainable development. WHO has three key messages related to health and sustainable development: Achieve universal health access, enhance health gains from sustainable development investments and decisions, and adopt health indicators to measure progress /achievements in sustainable development.

The Health and Sustainable Development Toolkit was designed to strengthen the capacity of advocates, program managers, policy makers, donors, and others to plan, implement, evaluate, promote, and scale up Health and Sustainable Development programs and to advocate for changes to national policy and service delivery guidelines.

This Toolkit contains a strategic set of tools and resources selected for high quality information as an instrument of evidence to support the World Conference RIO + 20.
