Print E-mail
Trinidad and Tobago, 30th October, 2012. Three participants from Guyana completed training at the National Centre for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) in San Fernando Trinidad. The intense two week training course involved making wooden and aluminum crutches, walkers and canes as well as advanced repair of wheelchairs. The participants were Mr Garvin Jeffers from Region II as well as Mr Junior Whyte from Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre and Mr Michael Trotman from the Open Doors Centre.

All the participants felt the training exceeded expectations and opened their minds to new possibilities. These men have a clear vision as to how there will use their newly acquired skills in the institutions and communities in Guyana.  Dr. Beverly Beckles, CEO of the NCPD distributed the certificates on Friday October 26th just before their return to Guyana.
