Print E-mail
Trinidad and Tobago, 10th October, 2012. World Mental Health Day is October 10th and this year the theme is Depression, a Global Crisis. Depression is a prevalent problem among youth, and as one of the activities put on by the Chaguanas Public Library for World Mental Health Day, a lecture on Depression was given to YTEPP students by PAHO consultant Dr. Carlene Radix. The students were actively engaged in group discussion and watched two videos, including the WHO video “The Black Dog” on depression. The students talked about triggers for depression, signs and symptoms as well the negative and positive ways people cope.

They were made aware of resources available in the country. This is one of the many activities happening in Trinidad and Tobago in observance of World Mental Health Day.
