BRB 129 iconThe Barbados Defense Force (BDF) achieved the verification of the World Health Organization (WHO) as the first International type 1 Fixed Emergency Medical Team (EMT), in the Caribbean. Being a team of military origin, it also became the first of its kind in the Americas to achieve this recognition from WHO.

DOR 129 iconThe Ministry of Public Health, with the support of the Pan American Health Organization, conducted a workshop on “Development of an operational model for managing health emergency response with a multi-hazard approach, within the national response framework and focusing on the organization of the health sector.”
