“New blood for the world”
Renowned Spanish singer Shaila Dúrcal lent her image to a PAHO awareness campaign about the importance of voluntary blood donation.
Voluntary, altruistic and repeated blood donation is the most important factor for ensuring a sufficient and safe supply of blood for transfusions. It helps thousands of patients whose lives depend on a blood transfusion.
The PAHO regional campaign encourages adult women and men to donate blood twice a year on dates scheduled in advance.
