On August 9, 2022, a webinar was held to present the latest update on WHO Public health surveillance for COVID-19: interim guidance, as well as specify the latest PAHO/WHO notification requirements. During this seminar, the main updates in case and contact definitions were presented, as well as the objectives and proposed methods to carry out the core surveillance (that all countries must maintain and strengthen); and the enhanced surveillance (for those countries with sufficient capacity).
The main recommendations for surveillance at the national level in the Member States were also pointed out as well as the requirements to notify to PAHO/WHO.
