Malaria in the Countries and Region of the Americas:
Time Series Epidemiological Data, 1998–2004

22 presentations with data on the Region and on 21 countries: The charts in each presentation are divided into sections following a standardized format (according to data available), with such generic areas as

Malaria in the Americas, 1998-2004
  1. the malaria burden,
  2. morbidity and mortality,
  3. malariometric indices (API, AFI, AVI, AMI),
  4. trends in case detection and diagnosis,
  5. treatment, and
  6. resources and financing.

Data is compiled in Excel charts embedded within the PowerPoint presentations listed below, by Region and countries (listed alphabetically). The data was prepared in November 2005 for the Meeting of National Directors of Epidemiology and Malaria Programs held in San Josť, Costa Rica. Each presentation contains from 27 to 28 slides, ranging in file size from 560 to 623 Kb. An updated and more comprehensive version of the data will be presented in the upcoming 2006 report on Malaria in the Americas.
