Geneva, 22 May 2017 (PAHO/WHO) - A large multimedia display, showing many of PAHO's historic health milestones, achievements and challenges, has attracted several hundred visitors on a very busy opening day of the World Health Assembly.

The display was designed and produced by PAHO's Communications Department (CMU) with inputs from a number of internal departments. It includes four large illustrated banners and two plasma displays, as well as various print materials and other items for visitors.

Visitors to the display are also invited to take an on-screen interactive trivia quiz about PAHO. The questions are proving challenging to answer - including one about when PAHO was founded.

"Almost all the people who take the quiz know when WHO was established - in 1948 - and most of them think that PAHO was created at the same time," said Patricia de los Rios, who is in charge of the display. "So they are very surprised to find out that we were founded in 1902. I think that's the most interesting question!"

She added that "it is interesting and fun to see how people from so many different countries are interested in our work. There have been many questions about Zika, since we had a big display about that at last year's World Health Assembly."

"When they ask me about Zika,  I tell them it's under control. And that we are here this year with a much more positive message."
