This June 14th, 2011, the annual global ceremony to commemorate World Blood Donor Day will be held in Argentina. The host country is seeking to recruit ONE MILLION VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONORS and launched the new global campaign with the slogan MORE BLOOD DONORS, MORE HEALTHY LIVES. World Blood Donor Day was established by the World Health Assembly to recognize those individuals who donate blood voluntarily and altruistically.
This year edition of PRESENT includes testimonials and success stories from national institutions, physicians, and individuals from Argentina, Anguilla, Belize, Colombia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Mexico, Paraguay, Suriname, St. Lucia and Uruguay. They all have contributed to improving voluntary blood donation in their countries and in the Region of the Americas.
