Stephanie Sangalang, Summer 2011 Intern
Background

Stephanie graduated from the University of California, San Francisco, in June 2011 with a M.S. in Nursing Health Policy. She is originally from the Philippines and now lives in the Bay Area where she has been working as a pediatric nurse since 2005.
Roles and Responsibilities

During her internship, Stephanie helped to develop and test a pilot survey relating to maternal mortality research, prepared a grant application, and wrote an article for the Intern Newsletter about vaccine safety in pregnant women.
Amy Chambliss, Summer 2011 Intern

Amy will graduate from Georgetown University in May 2012 with a B.S. in International Health and a certificate in Population Health. She is originally from Boston, Massachusetts.
Roles and Responsibilities

During her internship, Amy contributed to a report on identifying and prioritizing knowledge gaps in maternal mortality research, created a series of graphics analyzing trends in research and development in the Americas, and authored a paper on the development of clinical/public health guidelines in the region.
Victoria Higgins, Spring 2011 Intern

Victoria graduated from Georgetown University in May 2011 with a B.S. in International Health. She is originally from Los Angeles, California.
Roles and Responsibilities

During her internship, Victoria contributed to the analysis of selected systematic reviews to identify key research questions related to maternal mortality and contributed to a report addressing the methods and findings of the analysis done on systematic reviews.
