- Virtual Seminar on Human Genome Editing.
“CRISPR-Cas9: Molecular Scissors for Gene Editing”
The World Health Organization has established an Expert Advisory Committee to make recommendations on appropriate governance mechanisms for human genome editing. The Committee has a work plan for the coming 12-18 months, which includes a global consultation process.
In order to advance an active and meaningful engagement of the region in this process, the Regional Program on Bioethics of the Pan American Health Organization has organized a series of virtual seminars about human genome editing. The first virtual seminar will take place on Wednesday, June 12th at noon, Washington DC time. Dr. Juan Haro Mora from the Cellular and Molecular Therapeutics Branch of the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) will present on CRISPR-Cas9 in Spanish.
