Telehealth (including telemedicine), involves the delivery of health services using ICTs, specifically where distance is a barrier to health care. Some projects and initiatives on telehealth are:


Virtual Clinical Learning    
Description: The purpose of the Virtual Clinical Learning is to provide methodological and technological tools of e-learning for clinical skills development teams (doctors and nurses) in indigenous areas of difficult access in the Americas. This project is part of the Virtual Campus. Main services: Ask the Experts; Second opinion consultation clinic for teaching; Discussion of clinical cases;  Image Gallery: Rx, ultrasound, CT, EKG skin, among other; and Information Services: magazines, textbooks and other literature of clinical interest.
Status: Ongoing. The coordination of the study “Mapping use of ‘Educative-Telemedicine’ in Latin-America” in collaboration with HSS; Supported the implementation of this project in the province of Jujuy, Argentina.

Description: Participation in ECLA’s publication “Desarrollo de la telesalud en América Latina: aspectos conceptuales y estado actual”.
This document was based on the activities developed in the Regional Course on Telehealth which was part of the Project “Protocolos regionales de política proyecto @LIS2, Alianza para la Sociedad de la Información 2-Diálogo político inclusivo e intercambio de experiencias”, developed by ECLA and the European Union.
