UN Human Rights Council adopts eight resolutions including resolutions on maternal mortality and elimination of all forms of violence against women

In June 2009, the UN Human Rights Council adopted eight resolutions under its agenda item on the promotion and protection of all human rights, civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights. Among these resolutions, the Council adopted a resolution on maternal mortality and a resolution on accelerating efforts to elimination of all forms of violence against women.
