Desigualdades que afectan a la salud mental: Llamado a la presentación de trabajos

The Sixth World Conference on the Promotion of Mental Health and Prevention of Mental and Behavioral Disorders will take place on November 17-19, 2010 at the Omni Shoreham in Washington, D.C. The main theme is "Addressing Imbalances: Promoting Equity in Mental Health."

Mental health is a critical issue for governments, communities, and individuals around the world. The conference will address the pervasive and enduring inequalities that affect the mental health of millions of people, in both rich and poor countries.

Professionals in the field are encouraged to submit abstracts online for review by the Scientific Committee. The deadline is 30 April 2010. Abstracts must align with one of the five themes of the conference:

  • Promoting mental health and community well-being
  • Exploring social and economic connections to mental health
  • Protecting human rights, preventing discrimination, and promoting diversity
  • Preventing disorders
  • Healing from adverse experiences and trauma
Submited works must also reflect one of these specific strategies:
  • Reporting on research on promotion and prevention
  • Influencing advocacy and policy
  • Developing stakeholder partnerships
  • Implementing effective programs
  • Developing an effective workforce for promotion and prevention
