Cuba launches first clinical trial Registry in Spanish

On Tuesday 5 April 2011 Cuba celebrated the accreditation of the Registro Público Cubano de Ensayos Clínicos (RPCEC) by the World Health Organization’s ICTRP, becoming the first Spanish speaking country to become a data provider to the ICTRP. The registry is also an important milestone for advancing in the implementation of PAHO’s Policy on Research for Health and WHO’s Strategy on Research for Health.

The existing 12 data providers offer key information of about 130,000 clinical trials identified in the past couple of years (http://apps.who.int/trialsearch/).
