The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) is celebrating with the theme "Gender, Leadership, and Innovation in Nursing Education and Practice".
This year International Nurses Day will be celebrated on 12 May 2024. It is imperative to recognise the invaluable contributions of nurses in the eastern Caribbean countries and address key issues pertinent to their profession in this unique context.
Celebrating International Nurses Day 2024 presents an opportune moment for our countries to acknowledge the resilience, dedication, and leadership of nurses while also addressing pertinent issues such as gender equity, leadership development, and innovation in nursing education and practice. Through collaborative efforts and sustained investment in nursing workforce development, we can empower nurses to fulfill their vital roles as advocates, caregivers, and leaders in shaping the future of healthcare in the eastern Caribbean region.
