New PAHO self-study course: "Public Health Ethics”

PAHO's Regional Program on Bioethics has developed the course "Public Health Ethics", as part of the technical cooperation to Puerto Rico.

The course aims to strengthen capacities to identify, analyze, and address ethical challenges in public health. After an introduction to public health ethics, covering key issues like ethics in surveillance, it focuses on ethics in public health decision-making and ethics in public health emergencies.

This self-study course highlights some prominent ethical challenges in Puerto Rico that are also relevant to the entire Region of the Americas. It is free, open to the public, and has no deadlines for completion.

It is intended for public health authorities and professionals in Puerto Rico but is also valuable for public health authorities and professionals throughout the Region of the Americas, including PAHO staff.

Participate in the course, available ONLY IN SPANISH at the Public Health Virtual Campus—Puerto Rico Node, and you will receive a certificate issued by PAHO upon completion.

ACCESS TO THE COURSE

The course is accredited by the Government of Puerto Rico. Employees who wish to receive credit for government ethics hours can find information here.
