SIP Plus is the web-based version of the SIP. It contains modules for basic care and severe maternal illness (Near Miss) in pregnancy; modules for delivery and for the newborn during postnatal hospitalisation (SIPNEO); registration of congenital anomalies; modules for women undergoing abortion (SIP A) and also for registering severe respiratory infections during pregnancy (e.g. COVID 19).
The SIP also includes software tools for the analysis of the data recorded in the clinical modules. These tools, with a user-friendly design for health personnel, allow the generation of automatic reports on groups of demographic indicators, disease burden, interventions and outcomes. In addition, customised reports have been developed to meet the needs of countries in monitoring their health care programmes.
It is a free tool that provides, among other things, evidence-based information to assess health contexts, evaluate and generate policies, conduct research and make decisions in favour of the life, health and development of women and newborns. Its validation is the result of a long process of adoption and sustained use in hundreds of institutions.
