Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) Promotion of Vaccine Confidence and Community Wellness in Trinidad & Tobago - partners

The Phase Two of the Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) Promotion of Vaccine Confidence and Community Wellness Consultancy has been successfully carried out. This initiative built upon the achievements of the initial phase, which took place between November 2022 and March 2023.

The primary objective of this new phase was to offer extensive support to key stakeholders across Trinidad and Tobago in initiating community health prevention measures, amplifying the demand for health services, enhancing vaccine confidence, and promoting community partnerships and ownership of public health goals within the nation.

Throughout the initiative, we engaged with nurses, midwives, and other stakeholders, including interest groups. This collaborative effort proved vital in effectively addressing pervasive misinformation during the COVID-19 pandemic, countering vaccine hesitancy, and bolstering vaccine confidence among healthcare professionals and the wider population through a more direct approach to community engagement.

Uwàmìto Consulting, a trusted partner, was re-enlisted to spearhead this pivotal national endeavor. Their approach strictly adhered to the guidelines and methodologies outlined by PAHO/WHO. One of the project's key activities that required support was facilitating community engagement outreaches targeting nurses, midwives, and student professionals. These outreaches focused on addressing personal risk, elevating vaccine confidence, and reinforcing the indispensable role of healthcare workers during a pandemic.
