PANAFTOSA/VPH-PAHO/WHO selects Foot-and-Mouth Disease Advisor. To apply for this position, it is essential a university degree in a veterinary science and a master's degree in veterinary public health, public health or in any other field related to the functions of the post, from recognized institutions. And it is desirable further specialization in veterinary epidemiology, management of animal health or public health programs would be an asset.

Essential: Nine years of combined national and international experience in FMD, including surveillance, prevention, and control and eradication programs in countries and in the area of veterinary public health. Experience must also include management of emergency response field operations and resource mobilization for animal health programs and activities.

Desirable:  Experience working in international organizations and programs and/or Inter-American Systems would be an asset.

Languages: Very good knowledge of Spanish or English, with a working knowledge of the other language. Knowledge of Portuguese and/or French would be an asset.

IT Skills: Demonstrated ability to effectively use software programs such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Other IT skills and knowledge of other software programs such as Visio, Microsoft SharePoint and Project would be an asset.
