Health Emergencies in The Americas Partners' Forum 2024

Join us in this unique opportunity to gather leading voices in the field of public health emergencies

The PAHO Health Emergencies Partners’ Forum 2024 is a unique opportunity to gather key stakeholders and leading voices in the field of public health emergencies to discuss current and future challenges in the Region and strengthen strategic partnerships for continued collaboration throughout the Americas with the aim of saving lives, protecting communities and building resilient societies. The Forum will be PAHO’s first post Covid-19 pandemic meeting of public health emergency partners in the Region. Thus, this gathering falls at a crucial time to enhance our cooperative efforts in preparing for the next pandemic, as well as for the development of PAHO's next strategic plan for 2026-2031, which will include priorities for future technical cooperation and must address the new and evolving realities of our countries and communities.

Let's strengthen strategic partnerships to continue saving lives, protecting communities and building resilient societies.

The Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Region faces complex and multifaceted health emergency and humanitarian challenges in a context of acute inequity within and across countries. Overall, the Region’s high exposure to devastating disasters, epidemic-prone diseases and complex humanitarian crisis and its dependence on international assistance and imported emergency goods during emergencies. In this context, the COVID-19 pandemic has shifted paradigms when it comes to global health security, redefining the global health architecture and forcing countries and societies to reassess what it means to be prepared to face health emergencies.
