Colombia
On 5 March 2021, the Colombia National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD) reported that during the rainy season (from 1 January to 5 March), 152 municipalities in 23 departments of the country were affected. A total of 5,096 families were affected, 11 deaths occurred, and 14 injuries were reported due to the rainy season. The most affected departments were: Nariño, Huila, Cauca, Cundinamarca, and Risaralda. The report is available in Spanish at: UNGRD.
 
Ecuador
On 6 March 2021, the Ecuador National Risk and Emergency Management Service (SNGRE) reported heavy rain and an overflow of several rivers affected the cantons of Babahoyo and Urdaneta in Los Rios Province. The Governor of Los Ríos provided humanitarian assistance to 100 vulnerable families of the Babahoyo and Urdaneta cantons. Ecuador

On 8 March 2021, the Ecuador National Risk and Emergency Management Service (SNGRE) reported that the Sangay volcano, located in the Cordillera Real, Morona Santiago Province, registered ash columns 4 kilometers above the level of the crater toward the southwest. Ash fall affected the cantons of the Chimborazo, Guayas, Los Ríos, Bolívar and Cañar provinces. The SNGRE provided volcano kits to the affected population in the following cantons of the Chimborazo Province: Guamote, Alausí, and Cumandá. According to the assessment in Chimborazo, 23,750 families were affected as well as 15,658 agricultural crops, and 32,952 animals.
