On 24 November 2020, media reported 91 deaths due to drowning and landslides caused by the passage of Hurricane Iota. Additionally, 47 bridges were destroyed, 57 bridges were partially damaged, and 217 roads were affected in the departments of Yoro, Santa Bárbara, Gracias a Dios, and Cortés. It was also reported that 53,515 homes were affected of which 2,912 were at least partially damaged and 635 were destroyed by overflowing rivers. Heavy rains are predicted to continue in the region. On 24 November 2020, media reported that approximately 50 families were affected by a landslide in the village of El Limón in Gracias, Lempira municipality. No deaths or injuries have been reported.
