On 12 October 2023, the Civil Protection of Santa Catarina State, Brazil, published information on the effects of the heavy rains occurring there. There were 111 municipalities that have declared an emergency due to the heavy rains (22 increase since the 10 October report) and at least 139 municipalities reported floods, landslides, and hailstorms affecting homes, roads, and urban centers (4 increase).
