On 15 August, the municipality of Canoas – Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, declared a state of emergency due to the damage caused by the strong winds and hailstorms caused by the cyclone affecting the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The city of Canoas was one of the most affected in the state. The electrical system was affected, streets were blocked, and buildings, including a hospital, were damaged. In Porto Alegre, the state capital, the damage has not yet been measured, however one death was reported. Venezuela (Update)

On 15 August, a media report provided an update to the overflow of the Socopó River in the state of Barina, Venezuela, that occurred on 10 August. To date, 1,300 families have received humanitarian assistance from security forces and 375 houses were reported to have sustained damages. The report is available at: Venevision
