Guatemala (Update)

On 29 September 2023, the Guatemala National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (CONRED per its acronym in Spanish) published an update on the rainy season in the country. There have been 838 severe rain incidents reported nationally (33 increase since the 25 September report). At least 2,206,048 people were affected (82,414 increase), 32,907 people were attended to (1,415 increase), 10,535 people were evacuated (232 increase), 9,868 people are considered at risk (255 increase), 39 deaths were reported (4 increase), and 9 people remain missing (7 decrease). United States of America (Update)

On 29 September 2023, the government of the state of New York, declared a State of Emergency for all of New York City, Long Island, and the Mid-Hudson region, due to the heavy rains. According to the information, the heavy rains caused flash flooding with numerous storm-related travel and transit impacts. The New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services activated the State Emergency Operations Center to monitor storm conditions and support local governments. Additionally, more than 2,000 customers in the downstate region are currently without power.  The reports are available from: Government New York
