Brazil (Update)
On 21 May 2024, the Government of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, published updated information on the heavy rains affecting 464 municipalities of the state (one increase since the 20 May report).

Ecuador (Update)
On 20 May 2024, the Ecuador Risk Management Secretariat published an update on the heavy rains affecting the country since 29 January 2024. There have been 187,735 people affected (250 increase since the 16 May report), 3,547 people have been directly impacted (40 increase), 42,932 homes were affected (18 increase), and 289 homes were destroyed.
