Uruguay (Update)

On 21 March 2024, the Uruguay National Emergency System published updated information on the heavy rains affecting the central and southern parts of the country. A total of 4,722 people remain displaced throughout the country (3,161 increase since the 17 March report), of which, 995 were evacuated (142 increase) and 3,727 self-evacuated (3,019). The geographic distribution of the displaced people is across the departments of Canelones (n=606), Cerro Largo (n=28), Colonia (n=760), Durazno (n=20), Florida (n=1,995), Paysandú (n=4), Riviera (n=10), Rocha (n=1), and San Jose (n=1,298).
