On 26 December 2022, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), provided information regarding the winter storm caused by the artic blast. At least 33 deaths were reported and 47,000 people are without power. In New York state mandatory evacuations are in effect. In the states of Illinois there were 2 shelters were opened with 48 occupants; in Ohio there was 1 shelter with 27 occupants; in North Carolina, there was 1 shelter with 6 occupants; in Wisconsin, there was 1 shelter with 34 occupants. Brazil (update)

On 27 December 2022, the Civil Defense of the state of Minas Gerais of Brazil, provided an update regarding the heavy rains occurring in the state. According to the report, 10,421 people were evacuated (4,266 increase since the 22 December report) and 107 municipalities have declared an emergency (6 increase since the 22 December report). Wildfire

Chile

On 25 December 2022, the Government of Chile provided information regarding the wildfire that occurred on 22 December in the commune of Viña Del Mar. The government has declared public calamity due to the wildfire. According to the Ministry of the Interior and Public Safety of Chile (CONEMI per its acronym in Spanish), as of 23 December, 200 houses were affected and 110 acres had burned.
