Brazil (Update)

On 7 March 2024, the Acre State Government, Brazil, published an update on the state of emergency in effect for 19 municipalities (Assis Brasil, Brasileia, Capixaba, Cruzeiro do Sul, Epitaciolândia, Feijó, Jordão Mâncio Lima, Manoel Urbano, Marechal Thaumaturgo, Plácido de Castro, Porto Walter, Rio Branco, Rodrigues Alves, Santa Rosa do Purus, Sena Madureira, Tarauacá, and Xapuri). A total of 28,855 people were displaced (936 increase since the 6 March report), of which, 10,333 people (86 increase) are housed in the 102 shelters (2 increase) opened among 14 municipalities. In the municipality of Cruzeiro do Sul, 19,694 people were affected due to the overflow of the Juruá River (7,694 increase since the 4 March report). The report is available from: Governo do estado do Acre
