South America - Dialogue on Mental Health

South America - Dialogue on Mental Health

America del sur"Dialogue on Mental Health" consists of a series of teleconferences addressed to focal points at the ministries of health and to mental health consultants of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO). This program will be held every two months through the webinar of PAHO's mental health subregional coordination. The first session took place on February 23.

"Dialogue on Mental Health" is an opportunity to socialize successful mental health experiences in the Region of the Americas; it is linked to PAHO strategies and goals, and aims to strengthen technical cooperation among South American countries.

Participating countries, -Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela-, have the opportunity to present and exchange their experiences. The agenda of this initiative addresses issues that are currently in the process of being implemented in the countries; learning about other experiences will allow comparisons to improve interventions before putting them into practice.

"Dialogue on Mental Health" has aroused the interest of the ministries of health´s focal points and seeks to strengthen relations between them and PAHO offices in their respective countries.
