Human rights and COVID–19 Dialogue Series - Advancing human rights in a time of crisis

Every 10 December, the world remembers the extraordinary accomplishment when, in 1948, nations came together to sign the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The power and relevance of the recognition enshrined in the Declaration - that all human beings have fundamental rights and freedoms - is more important than ever when the world is facing an unprecedented public health crisis.

The Office of the Legal Counsel is hosting a series of dialogues during the month of December recognizing the importance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other fundamental human rights treaties to explore the critical legal, human rights and public health dimensions of the pandemic.

The Dialogue Series will feature the following speakers and topics and will be moderated by Alejandro Morlachetti, Legal Advisor, Human Rights, at PAHO/WHO.•
