On 26 March 2021, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), reported multiple thunderstorms with violent tornadoes, large hail, and damaging wind gusts affecting the central Gulf Coast to the Southeast of the United States. The report indicates there were 23 tornado touchdowns within the last 24 hours across Alabama. To date, the tornados have caused 5 deaths in Alabama state and 1 death in Mississippi. In addition, the Weather Channel indicated significant damage occurred this morning in Newnan, Georgia and 60 homes were damaged in one community.
