The Smoke-free Caribbean campaign was developed by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) in collaboration with Ministries of Health and the youth themselves.
The campaign aims to ensure that youth are aware of the laws in place to protect their health and are empowered to speak out when they see someone smoking in areas where it has been prohibited.

Exposure to secondhand smoke causes death and diseases such as heart disease, chronic respiratory diseases and cancer.
Countries in the Caribbean are taking action to protect people from exposure to tobacco smoke. Many already have laws in place to prevent smoking in enclosed public places and workplaces.
