“Boost your power!”
The animated character Chapulín Colorado, an unusual but beloved superhero, invites children and adults to get vaccinated to strengthen the power of their immune system and help people fight more than 20 dangerous diseases including measles, rubella, and tetanus.
The Chespirito Foundation joined PAHO to celebrate Vaccination Week in the Americas in 2015. Chapulín Colorado, an endearing comic character who has been popular throughout Latin America for over three decades, was created by Mexican actor and producer Roberto Gómez Bolaños (1933-2015). The Chespirito Foundation, also created by Bolaños, provides social support and guidance to organizations that address the basic needs of Mexican children with limited economic resources in the areas of education, health, and social and family integration.
