Saving lives, spending less: the case for investing in noncommunicable diseases

Overview

The Global NCD Investment Case, as the report is also known, outlines the health and economic benefits from investing in the 16 NCD Best Buys in low- and lower-middle-income countries. With 85% of all premature NCD deaths occurring in LMICs, scaling up the implementation of these interventions is vital if Member States are to meet various targets and commitments by the end of the decade. The goal is to provide policymakers, donors, advocates, and other relevant stakeholders with a sound and evidence-based economic case for investing in and scaling up these measures.
