Advances in Innovative Uses of the Regional Revolving Funds

The Regional Revolving Funds will present progress on their new priorities, which involve greater flexibility and innovation in their use. This responds to the needs expressed by Member States during the previous session of the Directing Council. Examples of these advances in four countries will be showcased, demonstrating the benefits of participating in the Funds and the achievements of technical cooperation combined with pooled procurement in accessing innovative technologies beyond routine operations.

  • Antigua & Barbuda: Presentation focused on the comprehensive approach to HPV (prevention, diagnosis, and treatment), its experience in implementing actions to achieve cervical cancer elimination, and the acquisition of these technologies through the RRF.

    Panelist: Kamaria De Castro, Chief Medical Officer, Antigua and Barbuda

  • Argentina: Sharing its experience in regional productive innovation, the challenges faced and how they were overcome to initiate the production of PCV-20 in the Americas, as well as the potential to distribute it across the LAC region through the RRF. Argentina will also share information on the regional production of influenza vaccines with pandemic potential and the role of the RRF in both projects.

  • Brazil: Presentation on the High-Priced Medicines Initiative, addressing newly acquired cancer treatments and the role of the RRF as a catalyst for this innovation.

  • Peru: will discuss the importance of telehealth equipment and the program in general, as well as the access opportunities provided through the RRF
