The EMT Regional Secretariat in the Americas is pleased to invite you to participate in the EMTignite: "Women on the Frontline: Strengthening the Emergency Care Continuum," which will be held on Wednesday, March 4th, 2026, at 11:00 am EST/WDC.

As part of activities commemorating International Women’s Day (8 March), this EMTignite session will explore operational coordination across emergency medical services, national health authorities, and Emergency Medical Teams (EMTs) during disaster response. The webinar will feature women professionals from the EMT Americas network sharing field experience on readiness, interoperability, and system integration, highlighting practical approaches to strengthening continuity of care from the scene of impact to definitive services within national health systems.

The session will be facilitated by Valerie Rzepka, Director Emeritus, Canadian Medical Assistance Teams, and will include the following presentations and panelists:

  • From Scene to Stabilization: Integrating USAR, EMS, and Emergency Medical Teams in Disaster Response. Natalie Sullivan, Program Director, Disaster & Operational Medicine Fellowship, George Washington University
  • National Coordination of Emergency Medical Teams During Hurricane Melissa. Nicole Dawkins-Wright, National EMT Focal Point and Director of Emergency, Disaster Management & Special Services, Ministry of Health and Wellness of Jamaica.

This webinar will be simultaneously translated into English and Spanish.
