Join us on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 11:00 am (EDT) on the webinar Evidence-Informed Tools for Better NCD Care, the first webinar in a series of five certifiable webinars from the Better Care for NCDs Initiative. Within the framework of this initiative, PAHO seeks to strengthen the quality of NCD care in primary health care (PHC) through the use of evidence-based tools such as clinical guidelines and protocols. These tools improve quality, efficiency, and a people-centered approach. To support their implementation, PAHO has created a regional dashboard that brings together these resources by country. The objective of the technical webinar is to present these instruments, showcase the dashboard as a support tool, and share practical experiences with their use in health services.

Objective

To introduce evidence-informed instruments for addressing NCDs in PHC, promote the regional dashboard as a support resource, and showcase national experiences applying these tools in primary health care services.

Certification

Training activity certifiable by the Virtual Campus of Public Health (CVSP), with subsequent final evaluation.

Context

Series of certifiable webinars - Better Care - 2025: Expanding Quality NCD Services in the Community, from an Equity Perspective

In 2023, PAHO launched the Better Care for NCDs Initiative, to accelerate the integration of noncommunicable disease (NCD) services into Primary Health Care (PHC). The initiative strengthens planning, implementation, and monitoring of comprehensive NCD services, ensuring equitable access, improving diagnosis and treatment, and enhancing data management across the Region.

To advance these goals, strengthening the capacities of interprofessional health teams is essential. What makes this new training offer distinctive is its modular package of thematic webinars, designed as a certifiable pathway. Rather than isolated sessions, the webinars are organized as a series that combines accessible, practice-oriented content with recognition of learning achievements, providing participants with both updated knowledge and formal certification.
