Open Call – Second Phase: Good Practices for Reducing Maternal and Neonatal Mortality Based on Primary Health Care

PAHO has launched the second phase of the Call for Good Practices for Reducing Maternal and Neonatal Mortality Based on Primary Health Care.

This second phase expands participation to include non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, and academic institutions working to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality in the Americas.

The good practices approved during the first phase are already being shared through PAHO’s Good Practices Portal.

Objectives of the Call:

  • Recognize, document, and disseminate good practices based on Primary Health Care that aim to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality in the Americas.
  • Foster cooperation among countries to promote the replication of successful experiences and contribute to building more equitable and sustainable health systems, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Proposals are welcome from:

  • National government authorities: Ministries, national agencies, subnational agencies, such as local or regional governments, and other public entities reporting directly to the government.
  • Intergovernmental organizations: The United Nations, its funds and specialized agencies, and other similar organizations.
  • Non-State actors: Non-governmental organizations, private sector entities, philanthropic foundations, and academic institutions.

Deadline and languages:

  • New proposals may be submitted in English, Spanish, Portuguese, or French and must be submitted exclusively through PAHO’s Good Practices Portal by 26 August 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EST.
