Guatemala (update)

On 23 April, the National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (CONRED) reported that during the last week (16-23 April), the Guatemalan territory has been affected by the beginning of the rainy season. Incidents have occurred associated with rains, landslides, floods and strong winds affecting 23,263 people in the country. The department with the highest incidence of damage has been Quiché, where floods and landslides have been recorded in the municipalities of Chicamán, Ixcán and Uspantán. Additionally, 1,720 persons have been evacuated 322 homes report damage and another 11 are at risk. The report is available in Spanish at CONRED BOLETÍN INFOMATIVO No. 197-2021.
