On 13 August 2020, the Mayor of Puerto Cabezas Municipality in Nicaragua, reported heavy rain and an overflow of the Wawa Boom river affecting families in the communities of Betaña and Wawaboom. In addition, media reported, more than 500 families and 84 homes were affected in Bilwi Municipality. On 13 August 2020, the Los Angeles County Fire Department in California, United States, reported a wildfire started yesterday between Santa Clarita city and Palmdale city. The fire burned 10,500 acres of land by morning; more than 5,420 structures are threatened and there are four highway closures. In addition, several evacuation orders were issued.
