On 15 July 2020, the Peru National Institute of Civil Defense reported that heavy rains and strong winds on 8 July affected 123 people and damaged 28 houses in the San Juan Bautista District, Maynas Province. The report is available in Spanish at: INDECI.

Guatemala

On 16 July 2020, the Guatemala National Coordinator for the Reduction of Disasters (CONRED) reported the Santiaguito Volcano released fine ash and avalanches to the southwest, south and southeast of the volcanic complex. Additionally, heavy rains in the upper part of the Fuego Volcano generated the descent of lahars into Las Lajas, El Jute, Honda and Ceniza ravines; surrounding communities are advised to stay clear of the ravines. On 15 July 2020, media reported that a strong storm accompanied by hail caused affected the states of Zacatecas, Chiapas and Jalisco. In Zacatecas, floods affected three rural communities causing damage to 116 homes. In Chiapas dozens of houses located in colonies of Tuxtla Gutiérrez were damaged while in Jalisco the entire southern part of Guadalajara metropolitan area experianced flooding and hail. Additionally, in a different media report, indigenous people in Yucatan State continue to request help after devastation from strong storms nearly two months ago as they did not qualify for a natural disaster fund.
