Colombia
On 22 March 2021, the Government of Nariño Department in Colombia reported heavy rain, floods, and landslides affecting 816 families in 48 municipalities. Technical assistance was provided to the following municipalities: El Peñol, Los Andes, Sotomayor, Puerres, and La Cruz. In addition, overall, the Colombia National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD) indicated that in the month of March the rainy season has affected 3,451 families and 23 persons suffered injuries. Ecuador (Update)
On 22 March 2021, the Ecuador National Risk and Emergency Management Service (SNGRE) published an update regarding heavy rain in Nangaritza Canton, Zamora Chinchipe Province and in the areas of Morona, Palora, and Huamboya of the Morona Santiago Province. The distribution of potable water in Morona Santiago was affected by 50%. Media reported that in the city of Loja, heavy rain caused pipe damage that has resulted in 40,000 people being without potable water for 10 days.
