Guatemala (update) 

On 21 May, the Guatemala National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (CONRED, per its acronym in Spanish) reported heavy rains in the departments of Santa Rosa and Petén that affected 679 people. In Petén, a flood in the village of El Zapotal, San Francisco damaged 36 homes and affected a total of 216 people. Strong winds in San Benito, Petén damaged the roofs of 89 homes, affecting 445 people. A shelter has been set up in Las Camelias for the affected families. In Santa Rosa, high waves in the beach of Las Lisas damaged 2 homes, affecting 18 people who were temporarily displaced. On 23 May, media reported strong winds in San Antonio Suchitepéquez affecting 42 people, 33 of which were evacuated to neighboring homes that were undamaged by the storm. In total, 10 homes were damaged, and 1 person was injured. In Livingston, Izabal, flooding caused by heavy rains moderately damaged 30 homes; the affected residents were evacuated and coordinated clean-up efforts have commenced.
