On 30 April 2026, a media report indicated that the Juruá River in Cruzeiro do Sul Municipality, Acre State, Brazil, reached a level of 14.13 meters, exceeding the official overflow threshold and resulting in widespread flooding. According to official information, approximately 7,087 families were affected, representing a total of 28,350 individuals. Authorities reported that 628 families were displaced and 55 remain homeless, with 242 individuals currently accommodated in six public shelters established by the local government. Additional impacts included the conversion of several educational facilities into temporary shelters, including the Padre Arnoud, Corazita Negreiros, Madre Adelgundes Becker, and Thaumaturgo de Azevedo schools. Colombia
On 1 May 2026, a media report indicated that emergency authorities in Ocaña, Santander Department, Colombia, provided information on a severe flood event following the overflow of the Tejo River due to intense rainfall. The sudden rise of the river led to the inundation of several sectors, including Las Delicias, El Molino, San Fermín, El Tejarito, and 20 de Julio, prompting the preventive evacuation of numerous families. Approximately 300 dwellings were reported damaged due to the ingress of water and mud. Dominican Republic (Update)
On 1 May 2026, an official media report indicated that the Emergency Operations Center (COE) of the Dominican Republic provided updated information on heavy rainfall affecting large areas of the country. The weather system resulted in the displacement of approximately 8,495 individuals and affected 1,699 dwellings; of these, 63 sustained partial damage and five were completely destroyed.
