On 9 August, the Panama National Civil Protection System (SINAPROC, per its acronym in Spanish) reported more than 50 homes in the communities of Villa del Carmen in Coclé and Coclesito in Colón were affected by the flooding of the Coclé del Norte and San Juan rivers. The flooding was caused by heavy rain in the region that persisted for several hours. Coclé government staff continues to conduct damage assessments of the affected regions in Coclé and Colón. On 10 August, media reported that in total, 307 people had been affected by the flooding and 38 people have been placed in shelters. The reports are available at: SINAPROC and TVN Noticias.
