On 9 September 2026, the National Civil Protection System (SINAPROC, per its acronym in Spanish) reported impacts from heavy rainfall and rising river levels in Bocas del Toro Province and the Ngäbe Buglé Comarca. In Kusapín, three houses were damaged by roof detachments, affecting approximately 15 people. In Guabal, the overflow of the Dayra River affected approximately seven houses and 86 people. Flooding was also reported at the Quebrada Venado School due to the overflow of a stream. Four minors were preventively evacuated due to rising water levels in the Dayra River.
