Peru (Update)

On 10 March 2023, the Civil Protection of Peru (INDECI per its acronym in Spanish), published updated information on the heavy rains in the north of the country. INDECI reported 4 deaths have occurred in Piura. Additionally, as of 8 March, the Piura Health Sector Emergency and Disaster Monitoring Spaces (EMED per its acronym in Spanish) reported that 28 affected institutions providing health services (IPRESS per its acronym in Spanish) are now 100% operational after their environments were cleaned. In Tumbes, there were 324 people affected, as well as 132 homes (including 4 destroyed) and 25 IPRESS facilities affected are operational. A media report attributed flooding occurring in the north of the country due to the Yaku cyclone and reported two deaths in Tumbes.
