United States of America (Update)  

On 12 May, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) reported the Coastal Fire in Orange County, California, and provided an update for the Hermit’s Peak Fire in San Miguel, New Mexico. The Coastal Fire began on 11 May, has burned 200 acres, and is 0% contained. There are 2,100 houses threatened, and 5,200 residents are under mandatory evacuation orders. The Hermit’s Peak fire has now burned 33,019 acres and is 33% contained. There are 22,096 houses threatened, 10 houses and 8 structures were damaged, and 238 houses and 158 structures were destroyed. There are still 25,939 residents under mandatory evacuation orders and 7 shelters are open with 810 occupants. In total there were 32 reported injuries. The report is available at: FEMA.
